Disc 'N' Dat

Review of One More Ride One More Ride
Cincinnati Enquirer, 1998

Long-haired local country boy Dallas Moore delivers an album straight from the same outlaw terrain that's been home to Willie and Waylon and David Allan Coe.  With Mr. Moore's hoarse vocals leading the way, One More Ride is a rough-edged set of country rock.  The title track refers to Harleys, not horses, while "I'd Do It All Again for You" recalls the reckless heart of Steve Earle.   "Every Sad Song on the Jukebox" is a whiskey-soaked honky-tonker that, in a better world, would be all over country radio.

The 10-song disc also shows Mr. Moore's outlaw country roots, dipping back to the style's golden age, the 70's, for Billy Joe Shaver's "Black Rose" with it's classic line, "The devil made me do it the first time, second time I did it on my own."
