A well-known and respected “outlaw country” musician will be in Laramie on Saturday night before his final stop at the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

Dallas Moore, who will be headlining at the Sturgis rally Sunday night, will be performing outlaw and southern rock’n’roll in Laramie on Saturday at the Cowboy Saloon.

Keith Young of KY Productions, who is friends with Moore and was responsible for bringing the musician to Laramie, said he first saw Moore and his band perform at a past Sturgis rally and was impressed with the band’s style and energy.

“They hit the stage and completely stole the show that night,” he said.

After becoming good friends, Young invited Moore to Laramie last year to perform at the Fireside Lounge and Bar on the Thursday before the Sturgis rally. Moore again put on a dynamic performance.

“The band took the stage at 9 p.m. and played non-stop until 2 a.m.,” Young remembered. “They didn’t even take a break.”

Moore comes out of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he has performed for the last several years with his band The Snatch Wranglers (composed of Bob Rutherford on bass guitar, Chuck Morpurgo on guitar and Rocky Parnell on the drums).

To date, Moore has produced four CDs (two studio, one live and one mostly acoustic). His latest, titled “High on the Hog,” is a mixture of country, honky tonk and southern rock.

The Snatch Wranglers perform an average of 300 shows per year, Young said, including the Sturgis rally.

Moore and The Snatch Wranglers will perform at the Cowboy Saloon on Saturday at 9 p.m. Laramie is lucky to host such an accomplished musician, Young said, who has performed alongside Willie Nelson and Molly Hatchet, among others.

“This is the best band that Laramie will see this year,” he said. “I urge everyone to come experience their electricity.”
