May Newsletter

Hey Y'all,

What a GREAT year 2008 is turning out to be. The new CD "Tales From A Road King" is continuing to kick ass all across the country with great reviews and even some really good radio play. The latest addition to the airwaves has been us getting played on Hillbilly Jim's Moonshine Matinee on Sirius Satellite Radio on the Outlaw Country Channel!! Many thanks to all who have reviewed and/or played our new CD, we really appreciate it!  Another thing that has come about from the new CD is we are getting more NEW places to play all across the country as well as here at home in the Tri-State.

We kick off the merry, merry month of May with just that, our 1st appearance at The Porch of All Sorts in Mason, OH on Thursday, May 1st from 8-12. This will be the very 1st bike nite at The Porch and this place is really cool and it's a good sized venue with plenty of room to boogie! I'll also be there for round 2 on Thursday the 15th. Join us at The Porch Of All sorts for a helluva good time!

The 1st weekend in May is filled with 3 (count 'em) 3 big shows at some of our favorite Honky Tonks in the tri-state, starting with the full band returning to Yardbirds Southern BBQ in Trenton, OH on Friday the 2nd from 10-2. Get there early cuz this place gets packed and has this best damn BBQ this side of the Alabama line! Don't forget, Yardbirds is also my new home for the Tuesday nite jams and bike/wing nite from 8-11. Spread the word about The Bird and dig into some good ol' southern fried music and down home eatin'. Tune into 105.9 FM The Rebel for more details.

Saturday the 3rd, we return WAYYYY out east at Uncle Sams Tavern in Batavia/Owensville, OH. We go on at 9:30 and blast away all nite long. This place is really cool and we can't wait to get back for our 2nd show and see our friends out in the country!

We wrap up the 1st weekend of May with a solo acoustic show at the Speak Easy in Crescent Springs, KY. This has become one of my favorite places for the solo sets. It's real intimate with a great crowd and awesome food. The never ending bottle of Jimmy Beam don't hurt either. Whoooo! We play from 9-1, but get there early to get a seat up close.

Next up is one of the BIGGEST shows of 2008 so far as we play the 1st Bike Nite of the year kick-off party at Jack-Ass Flats in Dayton, OH. This is far and away the Biggest bike nite in the State of Ohio with an estimated 2,000-3,000 bikes in attendance. Get on yer scoot and haul ass to Jack Ass Flats cuz we go onstage around 6:30 or 7:00 and jam on into the night!

Cruisin' on into the weekend we'll be returning to Cavanaughs Irish Pub in West Chester, OH on Friday the 9th and Best Damn Bar in Town (outside - weather permitting) on Saturday the 10th. Both places are some of our favorite honky tonks, so git amongst it with us.

Now like I said earlier , we've been really fired up about all the NEW places we've been playin' and theres a new one just opening up that I think is gonna be a cool little hotspot in Cincinnati. It's called Twisted Sisters Tavern and is located on Springdale Road in the Colerain area. It's the location formerly known as Beaches, but has been completely remodeled and is kickin' serious honky-tonk arse! We play the GRAND OPENING weekend on Friday and Saturday the 16th and 17th. Y'all git yer ass piece on out and check out the new place and help us break 'er in right with a big ol' Redneck rock n rollin' party at Twisted Sisters Tavern!

Mark yer calendars for Sunday the 18th in Bloomington, IN at The Bluebird as founding member of The Allman Brothers and Rock n Roll hall of famer Dickey Betts will be making his only area appearance this summer. Our good friend and Cincinnati native Pedro Aravelo is playin bass for Dickey and a whole bunch of us are headin' to Indiana to check out the show. Meet us there and buy us drinks, Whooooooo!!!!

On Thursday the 22nd, we return to The Swamp in Louisville, KY for another acoustic show from 7-11. Don't miss Louisville, Kentucky's premiere bike nite extravaganza!

Our show originally booked for the Backstreet in Ellery, South Carolina on the 23rd has been postponed til July as we have been given an opportunity to play at TIMBERWOLF AMPITHEATRE at Kings Island in Mason, OH when Captain Robbie Knieval attempts to break his father Evel Knievel's record and jump a gazillion Coke Zero trucks! Stay tuned for more info on this HUGE event!

We wrap up the month with our 1st appearance at the brand new Pirates Den II in Lawrenceburg, IN on Friday the 30th. It's the location formerly Poppy's and has a great big new stage and dance floor and all kinds of hell raisin' goin' on! It'll be great to see all our friends in that part of Indiana as it's been awhile since we've been back . Check it out and raise hell and sling gravel!!

Then it's on to KC's Pub in Milford, OH for a show with all the Snatch Wranglers in tow. I'll also have 2 solo appearances earlier in the month on Thursdays the 8th and 29th. Check our tour dates page for all dates and show times.

Of course, don't forget every Wednesday (except the 7th) we have the whole band jammin' away at The Knotty Pine in White Oak, OH with NO COVER, beer specials and the biggest party in Cincy on a Wednesday nite. Come on out after party in the park and head to the pine for some jammin' down in dixie style!

On Saturday we bring the whole snatchwranglin' band back to KC's Pub in Milford, Ohio from 9-1. This place is great and throws a helluva party, but seating is limited, so get there early cuz it gets PACKED!

We wrap up the month of March and say goodbye to the snowstorms and floods that kicked us in the arse all month with a solo show at The Speakeasy in Crescent Springs, Kentucky from 9-1. Great food, buckets o' beer and a great place to see a show up close. Don't miss it!
