The decision leading up to Dallas Moore's arm-length Hank Williams Sr. tattoo must be well entrenched in country gospel. Moore's brand of "outlaw" country stems directly from the short life of Williams' drinking and doping. Within the first verse of "Long Hair Country Boy," Moore is already sayin' "People say I'm no good, crazy as a loon cause I get stoned in the morning."
Moore and his group, the Snatch Wranglers have spent months on the road backing up the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, Willie Nelson and Montgomery Gentry. His label, Chroma Tone, states Moore is "not unlike a hillbilly version of the Grateful Dead phenomenon." That may be stretching the truth a bit, but nonetheless Moore is touted by David Allan Coe (he lists Moore as his second favorite entertainer right behind Williams) and consecutively wins Cincinnati music awards. Always ready to rough up and brawl out, Moore will be at the Cellar Lounge Saturday with Digby. Music starts at 10 pm, cover is $5.
