Live - Back at the Saddle

Dallas Moore is a musician's musician.  You won't find him on Main Street, Vine Street or any other corporate-sponsored event around the city.   This isn't because he doesn't have talent - his experience and showmanship dwarf the roots rock and country rock bands kicking around here right now, and I bet my undersized left one that he's opened for more national acts than anyone in the Tri-State.   He just concentrates more on kicking ass than kissing it.  His third album, Live - Back at the Saddle gives all of us "in bed by 10:30" people a revealing glimpse into Dallas' "King of the Nighttime" world.

There are 19 tracks on this live set, all recorded on New Year's Eve 1998.  The album opens with Charlie Daniels' biker anthem "Long Haired Country Boy" and segues into the Moore composition "One More Ride," the title track from his second album.  "Bad Checks" follows, with Dallas laying out his financial mantra unabashedly and guitarists Randy Peak and Chuck Morpurgo trading licks like Dicky and Duane on a good night.  Other cool moments include "Just What I Need Tonight," recalling classic rock at its finest, and "Tonight I Own the Wind," which showcases Dallas' gruff, soulful vocals.   Venture off Short Vine, blow off Main Street and look up Dallas Moore.
