AMG EXPERT REVIEW: As compelling as Moore's first two studio albums have been, it's truly the stage where this young country artist comes to life. Recorded on New Years Eve, 1998, before an appreciative audience, Moore and his crackerjack band blaze through a set of originals and stage-worthy covers. Highlights in the latter category are his masterful turns on "Rednecks, White Sox, Blue Ribbon Beer" and Merle Haggard's "Are the Good Times Really Over for Good." But it's his originals that really carry the day here. The Bo Diddley-ish "Wedding Ring," "Just What I Need Tonite," "One More Ride," and "Son of Carolina" keep ringing in your head long after the applause from the disc has died down. Another solid chapter of modern country music done right. — Cub Koda |
