Dallas Moore, Cincinnati's
Own Outlaw Country Legend

B.J. Sumner
Talk of the Town Magazine, June, 1999

When you think of outlaw country music, most people wouldn't believe that Cincinnati would be the place to find the best!  Dallas and his band can be seen all over town jammin' to great original songs, as well as a few choice cover tunes.

Among the bands many accomplishments was being added to the David Allan Coe poll (at http://www.davidallancoe.com).   The question is "Who is your favorite singer other than David Allan Coe?"   Surprise ... Dallas Moore has more votes than such legends as Johnny Cash, George Jones and Merle Haggard.

Dallas, a native of Norwood, has opened for many of country music's finest, including: David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, the Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet, George Jones, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.  Besides being a great musician, Dallas is also a great guy.  He makes all of his fans feel right at home, whether he's playing a benefit at a local school, a poker run or just down the street at a pub.  If you ask Dallas what his most prized possession is, I'm sure that he would answer ... his Waylon Jennings amp.

Randy Peak hails from Cleves and has played with Dallas for over five years.  Randy's many accomplishments include being picked by Ed King to be his replacement in Lynyrd Skynyrd, recording and touring with NASCAR band "Drivin' Sideways" and he won the Cincinnati Blues Guitar Competition last year.  Randy   also runs Top of the Mountain Music which specializes in amp modifications, repairs and recording.

Chuck Morpurgo lives in Columbus, Indiana.  Chuck has played lead guitar on both of Dallas' studio albums and was nominated as Best Country Instrumentalist at this year's Cammy Awards.  He also co-owns Midwest Audio in Bloomington, Indiana, where "One More Ride" was recorded.

Bob Rutherford is from Pekin, Indiana.  His heavy bass lines bring together the Dallas Moore Band.  Besides being busy with this project, he also manages Gotham Recording Artists, "Supafuzz."

"The Reverend" Steve Holmes, from Crestwood, Kentucky,   has played drums on all of Dallas' albums. You may also remember him from "Buster Brown."  Steve has also been featured in Modern Drummer magazine.

If you love outlaw country music, with just a touch of southern rock, be sure to catch Dallas Moore and his band.  You can find out more about them at http://www.dallasmoore.com.
